![]() Choral Kaleidoscope is a professional development event exploring the multi-faceted choral educators, conductors, and church musicians! This year’s guest clinician, Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt, Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto, will present engaging sessions on rehearsal technique, podium leadership, and a conducting masterclass with the Duquesne Voices of Spirit. Dr. Caron Daley, Director of Choral Activities at Duquesne University, will lead sessions on movement in the choral rehearsal and re-tooling your conducting gesture. Registration begins October 1! Act 48 credits available through the American Choral Directors Association of Pennsylvania.

PMEA District 1 Honors Jazz Ensemble Auditions will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018.
Please consult the PMEA web page for all audition requirements for each instrument. If you have any further questions, feel free to email Todd Stefan at [email protected] Registration will take place from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. and the director’s meeting will be held in the Senior High School Band Room at 4:45 pm Auditions will begin at 5:15 pm. The discussion will include a mixture of topics geared towards students wishing to obtain information about studying music in college. Parents are also welcome to attend. Topics include: - Degree options - Career options based on degree - How to prepare for a college audition - How to select a college/university - What to focus on as a high school musician ![]()
