The audition music list posted earlier in the summer incorrectly listed "Two By Two" as the etude honors jazz players should prepare. The correct etude is "Lunar" for the 2016 auditions. Please make sure that students prepare as directed for "Lunar" and NOT "Two By Two." The newsletter document and audition listing online have been corrected to reflect this change.
Fellow Western Pennsylvania Music Educators,
I hope you have made progress on your recovery from the past school year. Please forgive this short interruption. I am proceeding with my research that promises to support my studies at University of Pittsburgh and hoped you would give me 5 minutes of your time. My research focuses on how Instrumental Music Programs in Western Pennsylvania identify success. Based on these results, and other factors, I am looking to identify two programs that can be modeled as successful under the definition that we as music educators use. Whether or not you believe your program is successful, your answers will help support the results of this survey. Thank you for your time and you may now return to your previously scheduled Summer, Enjoy! The excerpt for auditions is NOT the Bach, but should be:
Concertino in C (Section A – D) Julius Klengel, International 1409 This was previously listed correctly until the updated grid was posted in early June. We apologize for any misunderstandings due to this error in copying and pasting information. The newsletter file and audition page have been corrected and reposted with the updated Klengel excerpt. If you find the Bach listing anywhere else, please notify us immediately so that it can be removed and updated. Thank you! |
