IMPORTANT DISTRICT BAND INFO

To the District 1 High School Band Membership:

The District 1 Band East AND District 1 Band West concerts have been CANCELLED for this evening due to the forecasted weather. Both District 1 Band East AND District 1 Band West will hold a free open rehearsal at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, Friday, January 12th at the respective host schools. Students will be dismissed immediately following the open rehearsal. The open rehearsal will be recorded and CD recordings will be available for purchase. Professional ensemble photos will be taken and will be available for purchase.

*** IMPORTANT *** Participating directors – please notify all parents of this change and coordinate transportation as necessary.

“Every Child Can!” Course

Saturday, February 10, 2018, 9:00am – 4:00pm

Where:
Unitarian Universalist Church of the South Hills,
1042 Washington Rd., Mt. Lebanon 15228

Cost: $135

This initial course in the philosophy and methodology of Suzuki music education will be offered in the Pittsburgh area on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Participants can receive Act 48 credit through the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. The course will include special information for public school music teachers whose Suzuki students may struggle to integrate well with the traditional students in school ensembles. The course is also the first step in taking unit courses for Suzuki training.
