Those positions are Treasurer and Vice President. (Brief descriptions are listed below and a link to the job description of President is included. )

Respectfully, Robert Traugh Vice President (6-year commitment - 2 years Vice President, 2 years President District President Job Description, 2 years Past President) The Vice President shall perform the usual duties of this office and shall be charged with the administration of auditions at all District 1 festivals. In the event of a disability of the President during the first year, the Immediate Past President assumes the duties of that office for the remainder of the year only, and the Vice President shall assume the duties of the office for the second year. In the event of a disability of the President during the second year, the Vice President shall assume the duties of that office for all of the remainder of that year. Treasurer (4-year term) The Treasurer shall be the custodian of District funds, shall transact all general routine business within PMEA and NAfME, and devise and keep such records as may be necessary for the efficient conduct of general business affairs. The Treasurer works with hosts to ensure finances are in order for each event and is responsible for obtaining, depositing, and documenting ticket sales money after each festival performance. Annual financial statements and festival breakdowns shall be presented to the Executive Board by the Treasurer. At the expiration of the term of office, the funds, books, receipts, documents, and records in their complete form shall be turned over to the successor of the Treasurer. We would like to invite our District 1 colleagues to the District 5 Professional Development Workshop! The theme for this year is “Building Community,” and it will take place on Monday, February 20, 2023 (Presidents' Day), at the Grove City College's Pew Fine Arts Center.
We will be welcoming Dr. Cameron W. Jenkins as our Keynote Speaker for the event, sponsored by the Slippery Rock Student Government Association. Dr. Jenkins is the founder of Full Potential Leadership, an international communications platform that coaches innovative leaders in maximizing their strengths, equipping their teams and reaching their full potential. He is also a Conn-Selmer educational clinician and the co-host of "Mind the Gap," a web-based program for novice music educators powered by Music For All. Following the keynote, attendees can choose from a number of breakout sessions that will serve the elementary general music, strings, band, and choral content areas. A boxed lunch will be provided for everyone, and the day will conclude with a fun Modern Band Jam Session led by Dr. Cassandra Eisenreich. Registration is FREE to all PMEA and PCMEA Members. Non-members are invited and encouraged to attend for a small fee of $10 that will cover the cost of lunch. I am writing to share information about the 2023 Slippery Rock University Honors Flute Ensemble event. Each spring semester we invite young flutists to join us for a weekend full of rehearsals, clinics, and a final concert featuring three world premieres. We will also have a representative from Flute World selling flutes, music and accessories at a discounted rate. This year the event will take place February 25 and 26, 2023. All students will have the opportunity to work with Dr. Cassandra Eisenreich, SRU Associate Professor of Flute and Music Education, and our incredible guest artists, Gareth McLearnon, Lindsey Goodman, and Stephen Neely.
