Choral Kaleidoscope!  A Conducting Workshop

​Choral Kaleidoscope is a professional development event exploring the multi-faceted choral educators, conductors, and church musicians! This year’s guest clinician, Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt, Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto, will present engaging sessions on rehearsal technique, podium leadership, and a conducting masterclass with the Duquesne Voices of Spirit. Dr. Caron Daley, Director of Choral Activities at Duquesne University, will lead sessions on movement in the choral rehearsal and re-tooling your conducting gesture.
Registration begins October 1! Act 48 credits available through the American Choral Directors Association of Pennsylvania.

9:45-10:00             Morning coffee
10:00-11:00           “The Conductor as Teacher: Rehearsing-in-Action” (Apfelstadt)
11:00-11:15            Break
11:15-12:00           “The Conductor as Leader: Modeling-in-Action” (Apfelstadt)
12:00-1:00             Lunch
1:00-2:00              “Re-tooling your Conducting Gesture” (Daley)
2:15-4:00               Conducting Masterclass with the Duquesne Voices of Spirit (Apfelstadt)
