We are just over a week away from PMEA District 1 Auditions!

The 2021 All-State Jazz and Vocal Jazz Applications are currently open through SUBMITTABLE until Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
2. 2021 All-State Accompanist requirements including repertoire and instructions are currently posted. The audition material for “Midwinter Songs (Lauridsen) SATB Singer’s Edition #10342584 has limited availability at this writing and is currently available from J.W. Pepper. www.jwpepper.com. The Window of Opportunity via SUBMITTABLE opens on Monday, February 1, 2021. 3. Percussion Students advancing from PMEA Districts and applying to participate in the 2021 All-State Orchestra, Wind Ensemble or Concert Band must submit applications on mallet, snare and timpani for consideration into the All-State Ensembles. The audition repertoire for potential All-State students will be available at a later date. Please make alternate plans NOW to ensure the percussion instruments and space to record are available should you not be permitted into your school to do so. Attached you will find the 2021 All-State Accompanist audition information including repertoire,eligibility and submission dates. Please share this information in your District. As of this writing, limited copies of "Midwinter Songs" are available through J.W. Pepper. "Cantique de Jean Racine"- BROUDE BROTHERS Publisher is available in the PMEA All-State Library. This year, PMEA will only name the top 2 student accompanists for Chorus. No other accompanists will be needed for the Instrumental Ensembles (CB, WE and ORCH). All-State HARP for Orchestra via SUBMITTABLE closes November 8. Please notify Directors in your District who have participating students who might be eligible. All-State JAZZ and VOCAL JAZZ via SUBMITTABLE opens- Monday 11/2/20- Tuesday 1/5/21. ***** 2021 PMEA All-State Information may be accessed by going to www.pmea.net, scroll to "Conferences and Events" and click on "PMEA All-State Information". ***** We are working on the final "pieces of the puzzle" for the 2021 PMEA All-State Virtual Festival. (The devil is in the details as we are embarking on another maiden voyage). PMEA thanks you for your patience. Please remember, this year will be different from last as each Ensemble will work with a guest Conductor VIRTUALLY and have the opportunity to record a musical selection which will then be mixed and produced for a final product. ***** Thank you for your communication and keeping everyone "in the loop".
