NEW- PMEA Leadership Program Opportunity for Members
PMEA is pleased to announce the new PMEA Leadership Program, created to develop the leadership necessary to ensure the long-term growth and advancement of both music education and the association. This program will begin at the 2013 PMEA Summer Conference (July 22-23 in State College) and conclude in March at the 2014 PMEA Annual Conference. There is a $75 enrollment fee, which will be returned upon successful completion (100% participation) of the program. One to three members from each PMEA district will be selected to participate. 2013 PMEA Summer Conference - Don't Delay, Sign Up Today!!
The 2013 PMEA Summer Conference will be here before you know it - so before you forget, take just a few moments to register, either online by logging in and selecting the Online Event Registration menu option or by completing the paper form, which can be found in the Summer Conference section of the PMEA website under the Conferences and Events menu option at www.pmea.net. Here you'll also find a Tentative Schedule with session descriptions.
This year's event will be held at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center in State College, Monday, July 22 (10 a.m. start) through Tuesday, July 23 (around 12:30 p.m. finish). The $50 registration fee covers Monday lunch and dinner, Tuesday breakfast, all breaks and sessions. Attendees are responsible for making their own lodging arrangements. Rooms are available at the Penn Stater at the rate of $112 for a single or double room. Reservations can be made by calling 800-233-7505 by June 21 or until the hotel is sold out. Be sure to specify the PMEA reservation code: PAMG13A. Twelve hours of Act 48 credit will be available. We look forward to seeing you in State College in July!
Calling All Golfers!
PMEA's 6th annual golf outing will be held on Sunday, July 21 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mountain View Country Club (formerly the Elks Club, 100 Elks Club Road, Boalsburg, PA). Whether you've been golfing for years, or have just picked up a set of clubs, come join us for an afternoon of great fun! The cost will be $60 and includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart and a light dinner. Please indicate your attendance via the summer conference registration form or by emailing Abi Young (email@example.com).
2014 PMEA Performing Group and Session Proposals – Submission Deadline June 25
PMEA is accepting performing group applications and session proposals for its 2014 Annual In-service Conference, March 27-29 at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center through June 25. New electronic submission options are available for both performing group and session proposal applications. Complete Information can be found in the Annual Conference section of the PMEA website under the Conferences and Events menu option.
PMEA 2013 Annual Conference - Act 48 Hours
Act 48 hours from the conference have now been posted to PDE's website. *Please remember - we must have a completed 2013 PMEA Annual Conference Survey (http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/M7KR3SW) on file in order for PDE to accept the hours. This is a PDE requirement so please be sure to complete this survey (in addition to the submission of an Act 48 card) if you wish to receive the professional development hours for this event.
