We have submitted a request to the state for a change in date for the District 1 Orchestra Festival in order to accommodate the possibility of this concert being hosted at Heinz Hall. We have requested approval for the festival to be moved to Friday January 20 and Saturday January 21, 2023. (Auditions would take place Thursday, January 19.) The state board will be voting on this matter at our board meeting on Sunday, October 16. As soon as we have confirmation, we will let you know.
As such, the deadline to submit applications will now be November 1, 2022 in order to help ensure that your students can check their schedules and commit to the appropriate weekend. TRYPO is hosting the festival again this year. When you are ready to submit applications, please send them via email to [email protected] or via mail to 212 Ninth Street, Suite 601, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. TRYPO staff will confirm receipt, so if you DO NOT receive confirmation of receipt please be sure to contact TRYPO directly.
